All-female
trade mission |
|
The
all-female Trade Mission was a first, not only for the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs but
for
the world as a whole. Until then, former Economic Affairs Minister
Annemarie Jorritsma had never managed to get enough women together
for a trade mission. “But obviously,” she said, “we
just didn’t know where to look.” This time, there were 40
women-entrepreneurs: executive recruiters, lawyers, designers,
transporters,
steel manufacturers and film
producers. Jorritsma recalls:
"During the match-making encounter,
the ballroom of the Adlon Hotel in Berlin was simply humming with
energy.”
